Did you know that our brain does better when it’s in good contact with our heart?
I’ve noticed that many people are very familiar with the brain-gut connection but not so about the brain-heart connection. Did you know that our brain and our heart talk to each other? And the best talking that’s done is when there is a strong heart, healthy blood vessels, and a tuned-up Vagus nerve—the long pair of nerves that run down from our brain stem to your gut, touching other organs, including our heart. It’s like a “walkie-talkie”, sending messages to the brain and receiving messages from the brain.
Guess What?
We can intentionally, on purpose, improve those three areas. We should want to do that because studies show us that cardiovascular disease increases the chances of damaging our brain. Also, by tuning up our Vagus nerve, we can help ourself with stress, moods, inflammation, and all those things that matter so much to our brain.
